What works on Meta Quest.

  • VREnter VR puts you 400 km above the Earth at true scale. The menu (A or X, or pinch and hold) takes you anywhere: any planet or moon, the Cupola, an orbital sunrise, holding the solar system, flying.
  • ARStart AR keeps your room in passthrough. Choose Hold the solar system and a world hangs in front of you; grab it to turn it, pull with both hands to scale it.
  • ControllersPoint and pull the trigger to go to a world. Either stick turns you 30 degrees. Grip to grab. In Fly, the left stick thrusts and the right one turns.
  • Hand trackingWith hands, pinch a world to go to it, and pinch and hold on empty sky to open the menu. Grabbing the solar system in Hold and flying use the controllers.

How to start on Meta Quest.

  1. Open the Meta Quest BrowserIt is in your app library. Go to 3dsolarsystem.online/viewer/.
  2. UnlockPay $2.99 once, here or in the headset. Bought on another device? Sign in with the same email.
  3. Press Enter VR or Start ARThe buttons sit at the top centre of the viewer. The headset takes over.
  4. Press A or XThe menu opens in front of you: Go to, Where, and Time and view.

Does AR work on Meta Quest?

Yes. The Meta Quest Browser offers WebXR’s AR mode, so Start AR appears beside Enter VR, and the room stays in view in colour passthrough on Quest 3, 3S and Pro.

Do I need the controllers?

Not to get around. With hand tracking, pinch a world to go to it and pinch and hold to open the menu, which reaches every world and the Cupola. Grabbing the solar system in Hold and flying use the controllers.

Do I install anything from the Meta Horizon Store?

No. It is the viewer at 3dsolarsystem.online/viewer/ in the Meta Quest Browser.

I bought it on my laptop. How do I get it on the headset?

Open the viewer in the headset browser and sign in with the email you paid with. The unlock belongs to that email, so it works in every browser you sign in to.
