Every Planet With Rings.
Saturn is famous for them, but it is not alone. All four giant planets in our solar system have ring systems; beyond Saturn they are just much fainter. Here is the full list.
- Saturn The brightest, widest ring system in the solar system, made mostly of water ice. Possibly no more than a few hundred million years old.
- Jupiter A faint dust ring discovered by Voyager 1 in 1979, fed by micrometeoroid impacts on the inner moons.
- Uranus 13 narrow, dark rings. The first were found in 1977 from Earth, when they dimmed a star passing behind Uranus; Voyager 2 and Hubble found the rest.
- Neptune Five main rings of varying brightness; the outermost, Adams, holds four bright clumpy arcs.
