Solar and lunar eclipses
Every solar and lunar eclipse coming up, with where to see it, how long it lasts and a countdown to the minute.
A solar eclipse is the Moon passing in front of the Sun, seen only from a narrow path for totality and a wider area for the partial phases; you need eclipse glasses to watch. A lunar eclipse is the full Moon passing through the Earth's shadow, seen from the whole night side of the Earth and safe to look at.
